SwitchBot made a strong impression at CES 2025 with its latest lineup of smart home devices and robots. Not just robot vacuums, but robots. This year’s highlights include the multitasking K20+ robot, the versatile S20 robot vacuum, an air-purifier table, and a next-generation video doorbell.
K20+ Pro Robot: A New Era of Household Assistance
SwitchBot’s K20+ Pro robot is a groundbreaking addition to the smart home space, functioning as a multitasking robot-assistant. Combining cleaning, delivery, and general household tasks, it leverages advanced AI and powerful sensors to navigate complex environments, identify clutter, and organize small items. It’s a successor (if it can be called that) to their mini-robot vacuum, the K10+ Pro.
Built with the “FusionPlatform,” a modular system, the K20+ Pro connects to various devices, enabling functions such as vacuuming, air purification, and item delivery. Its lidar-based navigation ensures centimeter-level accuracy, while the robot can carry loads of up to 8kg. A modular arm, currently in development, promises enhanced capabilities like object handling and surface tidying.
Users can control the K20+ Pro via the SwitchBot app or voice assistants. It supports USB-C and customizable attachments for expanded functionality. Launching in mid-2025, the robot will come with bundled kits tailored for specific tasks, such as air circulation or cleaning, catering to diverse household needs. Pricing and availability are expected to be announced later this quarter.
The SwitchBot K20+ Pro will support Matter-over-Wi-Fi, so we should be able to control at least some aspects of it with Home Assistant. I highly doubt everything this thing will be able to do to be accessible in Home Assistant, but at least triggers for some automations will be possible.
S20 Pro Robot Vacuum: The Super Cleaner
The S20 Pro robot vacuum goes beyond conventional floor-cleaning devices, offering deep-cleaning capabilities combined with advanced mapping technology. It’s a successor to the company’s top tier S10 robot vacuum, which can mop, vacuum, and self-clean its mop pads, reducing maintenance for users. The S20 features an extendable roller mop and a side brush, enabling it to effectively clean hard-to-reach areas like corners and edges along walls. The coolest thing for the S10 was the ability to connect it to your plumbing and have it auto-fil and auto-drain itself, without any user interaction.
The new S20 Pro is spec’d for 15,000Pa suction power, which is significantly more then the 6,500Pa of the S10. The S20 is also going to be backwards-compatible with the water station, so you will not have to get that if you already have the S10. It will also works with SwitchBot’s Evaporative Humidifier and can be programmed to automatically refill the humidifier when it’s out of water.
Video Doorbell with 4.3-inch Display
A video doorbell is something I was expecting from SwitchBot. As they already have cameras with similar capabilities of a doorbell, they finally made it happen. The SwitchBot Video Doorbell can do 2K resolution, color night vision, and AI motion detection. The device comes with a dedicated 4.3-inch in-home display monitor, offering users instant access to live video feeds without relying solely on their smartphones.
The video doorbell also supports local storage and integrates seamlessly with other SwitchBot devices, such as their smart locks, to provide a cohesive security solution. It remains to be seen how well it actually operates and what are it’s pros and cons.
Very Functional Air Purifier Table
SwitchBot’s Air Purifier Table merges functionality with style, making it a versatile addition to modern living spaces. Designed to double as a bedside, coffee, or side table, it conserves space while improving air quality. Featuring a sophisticated three-layer filtration system, it removes pollutants effectively. The pre-filter captures larger particles like pet hair and dust, the HEPA filter eliminates 99.97% of fine particles such as allergens and bacteria, and the activated carbon filter absorbs odors and harmful gases, ensuring a cleaner and fresher indoor environment.
The table is equipped with a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad, allowing users to power their devices without messy cables.
