SmartHomeScene.com was founded in 2021 as a platform dedicated to smart home and automation enthusiasts, tinkerers and do-it-yourself project lovers.
Mission: We are a team of passionate individuals who teardown, test and review interesting and sometimes obscure smart devices and share in-depth reviews in a written format.
Vision: We believe a modern smart home should be 100% local and completely isolated from the cloud and data collection companies, so we are a strong endorser and advocate for Home Assistant.
Our content is free – and always will be.
Collaboration and Review Guidelines
SmartHomeScene.com is open to working with any and every Smart Home company or manufacturer willing provide us with a product sample for review. Please note the following guidelines before getting in touch:
- We do not write sponsored reviews
- If you do decide to send us a product for testing, note that an unbiased, unfiltered and uninfluenced review will be published on our website
- We do not create review videos (unless previously agreed upon)
- We respect the readers right to scroll past whatever is on the screen and not waste their time
- We do not accept compensation for reviews
- If you do decide to send us a product for testing, note that no compensation will be accepted if it is intended to influence the outcome of the review.
- Voluntary donations are always accepted
- We do not allow a preview of the review
- A preview of the review article will not be shared with anyone under any circumstances
- Filtering a review article is not allowed and strictly against our main goal
- The sender will read the review once it’s published, together with everyone else
- We do not return review samples
- Product samples will not be returned to the sender, unless previously agreed upon
- We do not guarantee any sales, commissions or similar metrics
- If you are looking for some kind of sales boost or guarantee, look somewhere else.
